Our case studies
Marie-Lannelongue & Paris Saint Joseph Hospital:
In a constantly changing hospital context, healthcare establishments are looking innovative solutions to optimize their resources and improve the quality of care.
It is with this in mind that the Marie-Lannelongue Hospital took the strategic decision to outsource the sterilization of its medical devices to the Paris Saint Joseph Hospital , a member of the same hospital group.

Belharra Polyclinic in Bayonne :
1- Optimising the content of PTG/PTH BASE documents
The aim of this work is to achieve the separation and harmonization of the content of the PTG/PTH BASE of the Belharra Clinic in Bayonne, considering that the current platforms are poorly adapted to different interventions in numbers and types of instruments.
OBSERVATION BEFORE OPTIMIZATION OF “PTG/PTH BASE” TRAYS
1 tray
1 single type of trays reproduced in 12 copies of BASE PTG/PTH
63
63 instruments are present per stage
50,300€ excluding VAT
The cost of immobilizing these instruments is estimated at €50,300 excluding tax.
RESULT
+ €7,000 excluding VAT savings
In this case, the estimated saving would be 95 instruments and the immobilization cost of more than €7,000 excluding tax , just by separating these 2 types of interventions.
2- Optimization of the content of the Appendectomy trays
This experiment was carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of a precise description of surgical instruments and the grouping of supplier codes under a single generic reference.
The aim of this work is to easily optimize the content of the Appendectomy trays, following the grouping of several establishments at the Belharra Clinic in Bayonne.
OBSERVATION BEFORE OPTIMIZATION OF “APPENDICECTOMY” TRAYS
3 names
3 different names of trays for the same surgical activity
11 trays
11 non-identical Appendectomy trays, containing between 22 and 41 instruments
134 descriptions
134 descriptions of different instruments and 41 instruments that are difficult to identify (Not engraved: 30.6%)
334 instruments
Total of 344 instruments in 11 trays.
RESULT
28% capital cost savings
The optimization of appendectomy trays with Atlas InWay® made it possible to standardize 9 identical trays of 27 instruments each , reducing the total number of instruments by 30% and the references by 85% .
3- Optimization of the content of Hysterectomy trays
The aim of this work is to optimize the content of the Hysterectomy trays at the Belharra Clinic in Bayonne, considering that several tray names exist, without any real consistency with current needs.
OBSERVATION BEFORE OPTIMIZATION OF “HYSTERECTOMY” TRAYS
5 names
5 different tray names for the same surgical activity
6 trays
6 non-identical Hysterectomy trays, containing between 53 and 71 instruments
383 instruments
Total of 383 instruments in 6 trays.
197 descriptions
197 descriptions of different instruments and 44 instruments that are difficult to identify (Not engraved: 22.3%)
16,380€ excluding VAT
The cost of immobilizing these instruments is estimated at €16,380 excluding tax.
RESULT
+ 33% space saving
The Base + Complements format allows for more combinations of interventions in the same specialty and an adaptation generating savings. In this case, the estimated savings would be 33% space gain in the arsenal and the immobilization cost of + 28% .
Clinique de l'Union, Toulouse:
Optimisation of the structure of plastic surgery trays
The aim of this work is to allow fluidity and an increase in activity without affecting the budgets of the Clinique de l'Union in Toulouse.
FINDINGS BEFORE OPTIMISING PLASTIC SURGERY TRAYS
8 trays
8 types of tray , with between 14 and 43 instruments
652 instruments
A total of 652 instruments in 21 trays.
27,564€ excluding VAT
The cost of immobilizing these instruments is estimated at €27,564 excluding tax.
RESULT
-25%
fewer instruments per pay
In this case, the number of instruments in the new structure has fallen from 43 to 28, an overall average reduction of -25%, which will help to improve the quality of service provided in the operating theatre.
