New Marie-Lannelongue Hospital

Key Steps of Outsourcing

The outsourcing process is structured into several essential stages:

  1. Identification of existing instrument compositions: The first step consisted of an in-depth analysis of the 37 types of operating compositions used at Marie-Lannelongue Hospital. This mapping made it possible to ensure a more precise and reliable recomposition of the surgical trays.

  2. Integration into the Atlas Universal Format: By converting the data into the universal language of Atlas, the two hospitals obtained a unified and centralized database, thus facilitating the global visualization of the instruments and simplifying management.

  3. Instrument Rationalization: Using Atlas InWay and its common language, we optimized compositions, limiting redundant instrument data and simplifying daily workflows. This step is crucial to limit the volume of instruments to be transported between sites.

  4. Logistics Optimization: An analysis of the use for each composition was carried out to allow optimized logistics of instrument rotations. A modeling of the activity over a year was carried out, to allow the choice of shuttle schedules. This allows an efficient and rapid distribution of instruments between the two establishments while reducing the volume to be transported.

  5. Reduction in the Volume of Instruments Transported: By harmonizing instrument data, optimizing compositions and measuring usual use to define needs precisely, the hospital has reduced its acquisition costs, its logistics costs and its environmental impacts.

Summary of Results Obtained

Thanks to this methodical approach, Marie-Lannelongue Hospital was able to improve the completeness of operating platforms, thus guaranteeing the quality of care and patient safety while minimizing interruptions in the operating room.
